BECA Faculty and Students Honored by the Broadcast Education Association

The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international exhibition of award-wining faculty and student works chosen in the following competitions: audio, documentary, interactive multimedia, news, scriptwriting, and video. This year, the Festival received a record number 878 submissions across the 13 faculty and student competitions. BECA Faculty and Students were honored in several categories:

Jeff Jacoby received FIRST PLACE, BEST OF COMPETITION honors in Faculty Audio - Long Form Production Category for his most recent episode of “The Traveling Radio Show.”

Dina Ibrahim received FIRST PLACE, BEST OF COMPETITION honors in the Faculty News - Radio Feature News Reporting Category for her story, “What About the Arab-American Vote.” You can check out this story and more by visiting KPOO's homepage and clicking on the show"Arab Talk."

David Dunaway, visiting BECA artist in residence, received FIRST PLACE, BEST OF COMPETITION, and the BEA BEST OF FESTIVAL KING FOUNDATION AWARD for his radio documentary, “Pete Seeger: How Can I Keep from Singing?”

Two of Grace Provenzano's Documentary Production Students were also honored in the student division: Nina Soriano received second place in the Documentary - Long Form category for her project, “Amores de Dolores” and Melinda Quesenberry received third place in the Documentary - Short Form category for her video, “Africa Alive.”
