Student Shoot at Chinese New Year's Parade

Students from BECA 580 - Media in Community Service will have their first shoot of the semester at Saturday's Chinese New Year's Parade. The students are in the process of producing a video for the Community Response Team of the Community Youth Center (CYC), an organization that works with Asian and Pacific Islander youth in San Francisco. Two CYC groups - a hip hop group and a drill team - will march in the parade. The BECA 580 crew will catch the youth while they rehearse before the parade, and then follow their progress in the parade. As rain appears to be a tradition for the Chinese New Year's Parade, the crew is thinking through how to protect the equipment and still be ready to nab a shot of the dragon and the youth!
