El Hato and a Cross

B-roll is the theme of the week. Yesterday, in the pouring rain, we went back to the small town of El Hato, where the as-yet-undiagnosed child who may have had polio, whose name is Marcos, lives. (See earlier blog posts.) We met him on his first visit to El Hato, and then interviewed his physical therapist. Yesterday, we went back to El Hato to capture footage of Marcos being provided physical therapy in his home. We met his several brothers and sisters, and watched him and his sister play on a swing. The therapist feels Marcos' ability to use this swing, given his condition, is quite remarkable.

This morning, on a gorgeous, sunny day, seven of us climbed up a hill to the site of a cross that overlooks Antigua. The view from there is spectacular - a panoramic vista of Antigua and its surroundings. Unfortunately, one of the students left her purse with her personal camera in it on the ground, and it was taken. We spent a while with the tourist police, attempting to report the incident. That certainly put a damper on the morning - but the photos from the site are still pretty nice, as is the B-roll for the video.
