Morning Interviews

Today, our production activity has consisted mostly of two interviews in the morning, both nearby. Our first interview was with Luis, the physical therapist who works with the as-yet-undiagnosed boy named Marcos, whom we visited last week in the village of El Hato. He described the work he has done with Marcos, and the progress Marcos has made in the time they have been working together. The interview was set in the “front yard” of the Transitions print shop, a small, grassy area lined with flowers.

Then we went to the Transitions office to capture Doña Victoria, the cook who has been with Transitions for 13 or 14 years. Vicky has known the young men of Transitions over time, and has seen them mature and grow into young men. In her kitchen, she talked about nurturing the young men with food, helping them stay healthy by making sure they had their vegetables, and cooking the things they especially like. The young men remember her on Mother’s Day and treat her like family, and she reciprocates with love.
